In tonight’s FBI Most Wanted episode, Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott welcomed Special Agent Nina Chase to the team. She was replacing Kristin Gaines. She was also transferring from the New York field office. She just had a baby with Scola over on the original “FBI”. Her first case with the team was the first case since maternity leave.
This could be why she might have already crossed a line with Remy. Nina had asked him if Kristin leaving had anything to do with him. Remy didn’t like what that implied. It made him feel like he pushed Kristin away and that was a soft spot for Remy because Remy hasn’t heard from his nephew lately.
Remy learned he had a nephew during last season’s finale. He immediately reached out to the young man. They talked about Remy’s brother and the young man’s father.
Only that was a lot of information for a kid. He needed time to come to terms with everything. It wasn’t helped when the documentary about his dad’s case came out. Remy wasn’t taking it well that he was being ghosted by his nephew. He was struggling when they caught a case. They were looking for a woman named Valerie. She was in a bar waiting for someone when a sleaze wouldn’t take the hint.
The guy’s name was Pete. Pete kept harassing her. He tried to stop her from leaving and so she pushed him down. He followed her out in the alleyway where he saw her get money from a guy.
He pulled out his knife. He demanded the money. Valerie’s partner shot him. They then tried to flee in their separate cars, but Valerie’s car wasn’t as empty as she thought. Her boyfriend Woody was hiding in the backseat. He had followed her to the meet. He had saw the money that Valerie had gotten and he grew greedy.
Woody whose real name was Elwood McCarron eventually kills Valerie. He probably realized that the money was to help Valerie escape her crazy boyfriend and so he used Valerie’s phone to contact the guy that gave her the money.
He was demanding more money to keep quiet or he was going to tell the police what car the shooter drove. Woody demanded another hundred thousand dollars for his silence. He already stolen Valerie’s money and now he wants more. He will probably always wants more. And that’s something Valerie’s friend figured out.
Woody agreed to a meeting. He was going to get paid and the other guy was coming to kill him. Only the meeting never happened. Hana found out their shooter was having another meeting first.
This new meet was what went sideways when the FBI announced themselves. The guy with the gun got shot along with his wife. Meanwhile the other guy went on the run. Nina and Sheryl chased them with their own car. A school bus got in the way. The bad guys got away. The FBI now has three bodies. They looked into all of them. Valerie worked for NASA until the government burned her down.
They turned her down for a promotion to give it to a man less qualified than her. Valerie tried to sue them. The lawsuit was thrown out on a technicality.
Nina needed money and she has a grudge against the government. She joined an online group known as 861s. This group believed its illegal that the government was charging them taxes. The online chat group moved their chat to a private page and Hanna was having a hard accessing it, but the other two bodies were identified as Travis and Millie. They were married couple until the government screwed them too.
They were also 861s. This group gave Valerie the money that wasn’t in fact to get away from her boyfriend. It was to pay for a fancy rehab for her sister. Her boyfriend had access to all her codes as well as accounts.
He followed her because he wanted to see if she was cheating on him. He killed her because he got greedy. Woody aside, the feds had a bigger problem. They know why Valerie received money that night. She helped her new group hack into NASA’s satellites. They could potentially shut down any satellite by getting their hands on the big one. They could even interfere with people’s computers and their banking.
Valerie showed them how to get in. It doesn’t matter that she’s dead because she’s already given the 861s all they needed. They hacked NASA’s computers and they raised the overworked boiler room’s temperature.
This terror group planned on bombing the NASA building. They knew that if they did that they could stop their government from accessing files. They could even wipe out all debt that no one will be able to prove was them. They didn’t know about the FBI Task Force hunting them down. The feds figured out other people in the group.
They knew that the one in charge was an English professor. He must be using the campus’s computers to carry out the hack and so several agents went there to apprehend him.
They were shot at. Several civilians got shot. Ray was able to get to the shooters. He took them both down. They got to the main guy as well as the hacker. They shut down his computers. Which prevented the NASA building from getting bombed.
And they also found the group’s manifesto while they were. They quoted Martin Luther King in their manifesto and so what a way to celebrate Black History Month.
But Remy tracked down his nephew. He told him that he could push him away all he likes. Remy was going to be a part of his life one way or another. Remy got the idea after he talked to Nina and Nina confirmed there were rumors about him and Kristin before she left. Remy said his private life was private for a reason.
