A clash of brothers in Gridiron

Dubbed the "Manning Bowl," there were only three encounters where brothers Peyton and Eli Manning played against each other as opposing quarterbacks.

However, the three matchups ended with Peyton being on the winning side, further showing his superiority over his younger brother on the pitch.

Manning Bowl I

The first Manning Bowl took place as a season opener on September 10, 2006, at the RCA Dome between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants. Peyton was already a two-time NFL MVP winner while Eli has just completed two NFL seasons.

The game ended 26-21 in favor of the Colts, who went on to become Super Bowl champions that very season. The two brothers had a stellar performance in the thrilling encounter. However, Peyton had the most passing yards in the game with 276.

Manning Bowl II

The second encounter between the brothers occurred four years later. Held on September 19, 2010, Eli was looking to avenge the 2006 defeat while Peyton wanted to extend his winning record. This time, both brothers were already Super Bowl winners.

In another intriguing encounter, the Colts were superior over the Giants again, coming out victorious 38-14 at the Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts were dominant throughout the game and Peyton also led the passing yards again with 255 and three touchdowns.

Manning Bowl III

The brothers last played against each other in the NFL in 2013. This time, Peyton had left the Colts to join the Denver Broncos. It was Eli's time to have one over his big brother but that wasn't to be. Rather, Peyton completed a hat trick over his younger sibling.

The Broncos won the matchup with a scoreline of 41-23 over the Giants. The two brothers were once again fabulous to watch on the pitch. Peyton held his record for most passing yards in the encounter and this time, he extended it to 307 yards.
